I never really expect gifts when the day I was born happens to float by, and this weekend I was given a couple from my lovely friends the Pirates. Well, yes, they're pirates. Apart from sailing the seven seas, dressing mostly in black and pics of human bones and robbing people, they dish booty.

Absolutely wonderful collection of polaroid-sized and shaped postcards with matching envelopes. The images display a bit of the "American Beauty" aesthetic, some of the pics being wonky, out of focus. One is of a gravel road, showing part of a fender of a car. Another shows a vase with flowers. Some of them are blindingly pretty.

Great, quite big notebook with background imagery from walls, making for a great view as well as being inspirational. Requires a non-inky pen, e.g. watery reservoirs.
